We have been really hoping that Kate will be home from the hospital before Christmas, and it might just happen. She was able to come off the ventilator on Thursday and has made significant improvements since then. After coming off the vent, she was put on CPAP and stayed on that all day yesterday. Today, she was put on a regular nasal cannula and has really held her own. This is a good sign that her lungs are starting to heal. The greatest part of being off the vent is that we can actually hold her. I have to say that not holding Kate has been the hardest thing, but it was such a sweet reward to be able to finally hold and comfort her today. So, at this point we are still crossing our fingers that we can get her home in the next couple of days.

Oh yeah!! So glad she is pulling out of it and you got to hold her. I'm sure she just looked at you like, "Mom can't you do something to make it all better. Help me out here." and I'm sure it just ripped your heart out. I'm sure she knows with every fiber of her being though that you love her with everything you have. That's probably why she's such a little trooper and pulls through every time. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. You honestly amaze me that the smiles are never fake. Or at least we need to give you an academy award for acting. Either way, you are amazing and I wish we could send a hug your way. Good luck with getting her home. Merry Christmas!!
I'm so relieved she is doing better. I hope it continues, and that she will make it home in time for Santa to visit her. BTW- You look great... Best Wishes!

I am praying for her to come home what a great gift that would be just to be with the thing you love most your kids. By the way i love your hat, you look so cute and you can not even tell you are prego i hate you.
Marcae I bet you just loved being able to finally hold her again. That has to be one of the hardest things to deal with. She looks so great in that picture and looks like she wants to go home too so I pray that you will be able to. Love you and Merry Christmas.
I am so happy she is making progress--hopefully she made it home for Christmas!
